jeepers creepers

Where does the time go? Arlo is on his way to being 8 months. He is a stronger sitter and enjoys trying to pull himself up...though we are not quite there yet. He jabbers a lot. Our favorite time of day is in the morning when we wake up...Arlo does what we call whisper talking. He jabbers quietly to himself, until we are awake to give him hugs and kisses! I am so in love with my little man. I can't believe that he can sit up in his crib and play. That he can grasp onto his bottle. That he jiggles with excitement at the site of food! Life is exciting during these days.

Tuesday

Grandma Kathy's birthday today. Arlo made her a birthday card with my help of course!
It was cold out this morning....something like 10 below with a 25 below wind chill, but it was so sunny and beautiful. I love it when the sun shines and it cancels out all of that other coldness.

Yesterday I drove to Fergus Falls to teach 2 printmaking classes. It was an all day affair.
Roads were a bit icy in the morning, but were dried out by the evening for the trip home. Jes and Kermit drove up to Battle Lake, so Jes drove back to Fargo with me. She is already 4 months pregnant, and has a pretty good baby bump. We got to catch up and talk all things baby. Ordered our favorite, pizza patrol, and were in bed by 10:30...we are officially old.
Arlo has a Birthday Party for Avi today at noon. Pat and Gretch are driving up for the party.
Chris had to go into work for awhile for superbowl stuff.
Snowing outside and driveway needs to be blown out. Fun stuff at the Nelson household.

trek

Arlo and I made our way to Fergus Falls today. Unfortunately the weather is icky...right in between raining and freezing and snow. I have to travel to Fergus tomorrow to teach a printmaking class at the Kaddatz gallery. Chris will spend his first day babysitting Arlo all day!
Jes is coming to visit too! Should be a fun weekend...if the weather cooperates.
Dad left for home this morning...I always love when my Mom and Dad can visit. Every day is a gift, and want to make sure we get as many as we can together.

Just another Thursday

The inlaws are still sick, so another day at home with the crew. Dad went to his appt. this morning at the VA hospital. I am doing laundry and Arlo is up playing in his crib. It is warmer today...woke up to 19 degrees...but a little overcast.
Need to go buy some birthday presents for some parties. Arlo has two invites for Sun and Mon. Our little budding socialite!

Lazy...or not so lazy day

Kathy called this morning and is sick with the vomitting, so that meant that I had to scramble to school to get ready for a sub...with Arlo in tow of course. So, I unwittingly got the day off!
My Dad is coming up to Fargo for a Dr. appt. at the VA hospital. He is going to spend the night today and tomorrow. I made some Irish stout beef stew and maybe we will go to the Gastropub for supper!
Chris was written up in the newspaper today...his food got a great review!
Just doing laundry and waiting for Dad to arrive.

Just launched my new website last night. I am very excited, and hope that I am able to turn a hobby into a full business. We will see what happens!
Today is just another regualar day. I will take Arlo to Naomi's and Kathy will watch him, 9-1.
Then Arlo and I will come home and play for awhile. Make supper. Nap (arlo). Arlo is in a good mood this morning...actually, he is always in a good mood in the morning!

Found out today that Meredith is pregnant!
She is due sometime in August.
Jes is due June 19....it's gonna be baby central!
It is snowing here today...just a light layer of snow, but snowing. It makes that thin layer of ice already on the ground that much slipperier. I think the high today is 7. Buddy is sitting on the couch right now with his head rested on the back, looking out the window. Can't help but think that he too is anxiously awaiting spring. I am so glad February is a fast month.
